Mr. Bessette is a seasoned veteran of the fire service. Having started his career as a part-time firefighter with the city of St-Hyacinthe in 1983, his passion and devotion for helping others led him to a professional career with the city of Dorval in 1991. The municipal mergers in 2002 led to the amalgamation of the modern day Montreal Fire Dept where he continued to serve for a total of 30 years, including 22 in a supervisory role as a lieutenant and captain.
His experience in the fire service led him to work fire prevention where he was entrused with major mandates such as the creation and implementation of emergency intervention procedures at Montreal’s Trudeau International Airport and responsibility of evaluating and approving construction projects for the architectural committee of the city of Dorval. He also consulted private companies and implemented fire safety and emergency management procedures.
Guy Bessette has a bachelors degree from the École Polytechnique of the University of Montreal in fire prevention and management. He now devotes his time by sharing his extensive knowledge and experience with public institutions and private companies through this unique and innovative tool: The SAG-II.

Few players in the fire service can boast of having a resumé as impressive as that Mr. Martel. From his hiring as a firefighter in the Montreal borough of Lachine in 1989, to the position of director of the North/West fire authority of the MRC Des Laurentides, his values such as justice, integrity, transparency and accountability have served as guidance throughout his career. Mr. Martel ascended through the ranks in his career through promotions in 1999 to Lieutenant, then Captain in 2003 soon after the amalgation of the Montreal Fire Department and eventually to Battalion Chef in 2010.
His leadership qualities and managerial skills led him to key positions such as Health and Safety officer, Media relations, and special operations managing the nautical-ice water rescue division.
In addition to his role as Director of management and organization at Groupe Praeventys, Mr. Martel provides support and consulting to fire safety projects for students of the École Polytechnique of the University of Montreal as well as private sector companies specializing in fire training and nautical-ice water rescue services.
He has a masters degree in public administration and is currently pursuing a law degree from the University of Laval.
Mr. Martel has become a major contributor for news and media outlets covering emergency events related to fire and public safety.
Mr. Ciavaglia began his successful fire fighting career in 1998 when he was hired by the City of Westmount wich is now a borough of Montreal. He climbed the ranks and was promoted to Battalion Chief in 2016, a position he currently holds with the Montreal Fire Department.
He has been assigned important mandates throughout his career such as Chief of fire fighting teams at the Canadian Grand Prix and evaluation and interview hiring and promotional exams with human resources. In parallel with his career as a firefighter, Mr. Ciavaglia sat on the Council of the Montreal Fire Chiefs Association and served as an instructor where he taught fire and first responder to future police officers at John Abbott College.
Groupe Praeventys considers itself privileged to be able to rely on Mr. Ciavaglia to oversee the organization of field operations and count on his communication skills and ability to speak fluently in 3 languages to ensure communications with customers.
